windows 764  RC  not too convincing yet
I am running W7 64 RC and hoped that there would be a general noticible performance increase compared to e.g. XP PRO 32. One of the things I hoped to find is killed process procedure to be smilarly quick as with e.g. OSX or LUNUX/UNIX. Turns out, that at least on the W7 64 RC version - this is not the case. Maybe this will be improved with the first release? Undetermined reasons for suden reboots, or stopping the bootsequence then rebooting and asking if the system should go into safe mode, because ther was a previous failed attempt to boot. Even though the system was properly shut down with no added soft and or hardware. So far W7 64 RC has not convinced me enough to feel it is REALLY something "better" (better to me at elast doesn't mean tons of eye candy and customisation - eye candy is nice - but performance is first). It's not bad - but my XP PRO 32 has - at this point at least - no significant performance deficits in comparison with W7 64 RC. AND - XP runs stable with overclocked hardware.
